What is Qigong?

Qigong is a moving meditation practice designed to cultivate Qi (life force energy) for self-healing, vitality, mental focus and spiritual awareness. By slow, relaxed and rhythmic movement, together with deep breathing, we allow Qi to regulate and balance our system from the inside.

With Qigong we connect ourselves with the inherent wisdom of our being that has the ultimate potential to heal us on all levels – Body (Jing), Heart-Mind (Xin) and Spirit (Shen).

About Retreat

This retreat is designed as a deep dive into the ancient art of Qigong. We will explore sitting meditation/energy circulation (Neigong), standing meditation (Zhang Zuan) and moving meditation (Qigong). We will also have lectures on Qigong and Taoist Theory. Our focus will be exploring the essential principals of Qigong, which then can be applied to the future study of other systems, life experience and Spiritual practice.

Essential Principles of Qigong Retreat is taking place at Nirarta Center in Sidemen. Overlooking the Unda river, Nirarta is surrounded by a ring of green hills in unspoilt East Bali. Here, Nature’s unfolding presence sustains the natural unfolding of your own renewal.

Facilitators

Adolf Brown

Adolf began his studies of internal martial arts after a Tai Chi workshop with Al Wong in 1979. He explored several internal martial arts systems, but was never really captured until he discovered Ba Gua Zhang in 1999. Under the tutelage of internal martial genius Vince Black, D.O.M. at the North American Tang Shou Tao school in Tucson, AZ, Adolf studied Ba Gua Zhang and other internal styles including Qi Gong. He has been teaching Qi Gong at the Yoga Barn in Ubud, Bali for over nine years.

After struggling for many years with a severe arthritic condition that limited his ability to do martial arts, Adolf focused on Qi Gong for self-healing. “My physical limitations forced me into a deeper understanding of moving with qi and using qi for self-healing.”

Adolf’s teaching style is relaxed and fun, while simultaneously being focused and precise. He combines his knowledge of anatomy, bodywork, joint manipulation, craniosacral therapy and acupuncture to give his teaching a unique level of depth.

Adolf currently practices Craniosacral Therapy, Applied Kinesiology and Nutritional Medicine, as well as teaching Qi Gong, at the Yoga Barn, Ubud, Bali.

Ondra Loučím

Ondra is a former graphic designer who woke up one morning and decided to follow the calling of his heart, leaving behind an illusion of stability he had in Europe to step into the mysterious darkness of the unknown. His unfolding journey navigated him to the far side of the Earth to the Island of Gods – Bali – where he studied various sources of sacred knowledge from different teachers in many disciplines.

Ondra is truly a Renaissance spirit whose heart is embracing a wide spectrum of skills, holistic practices and healing arts. His fascination with bio-energy, the body’s innate wisdom, and sacred principles are reflected in everything he does.

He practices QiGong, Subtle Energy Medicine (Qi Healing), Craniosacral Therapy, Applied Kinesiology (Muscle Testing), Mosoq Karpay (Shamanic Healing) and Evolutionary Astrology. He is also a passionate sound explorer through Handpan, Shakuhachi and Kalimba.

In his sessions and classes, Ondra seeks deeper states of consciousness in which people can reconnect themselves with their highest potential.
